The SE Portland Tool Library is growing, and we need your support! We are expanding our space by 50% to offer more tools, expand our repair program, and increase our capacity for new programming and community events.
Double Your Donations
SEPTL has committed to match the first $5,000 raised!
Your Donation Will Help Us:
Complete our construction of walls, shelving, workstations, and storage for our new SEPTL library wing
Equip our new space with repair tools and infrastructure so we can sustainably keep more tools active for longer — for you to use!
Purchase new inventory for our expanded lending space
Develop programming and community events
Outreach and engage with the broader SE PDX community
Many of you have been active SEPTL members for many years, and have no doubt benefited from access to free, community-oriented tool lending to repair your homes, tend your gardens, and build new projects or hobbies. Many of you are new to our community and, we hope, will be SEPTL members for years to come.
Please consider donating to the 2026 SEPTL Expansion Fundraiser and help us continue to make free tools and more available for Southeast Portland!
Can’t donate now? Help us spread the word by telling your friends and neighbors!
*If you plan to donate from a charity, wealth fund, IRA, or other tax-exempt mechanism, please contact info@SEPTL.org to facilitate your donation.
For the first time in our history, SEPTL is asking our community to help us raise funding to expand the tool library.
After 10 years occupying Room 103, the Hinson community has generously allowed us to expand operations into a portion of Room 104 and the old custodial closet. The additional square footage will be used for an expanded tool repair facility and additional tool storage - we will also have more tool browsing space and increased capacity in the main SEPTL library you know and love.
We’re asking our members, neighbors, and volunteers to contribute to a fundraising drive to help us develop the new space to improve the repair program and expand our inventory, as well as build our capacity for new programming and community events.
