The Southeast Portland Tool Library is built upon the the generosity and goodwill of its borrowers, donors, volunteers and the community.
Tool and monetary donations are tax deductible.
We are happy to provide you with itemized forms for your records. Tool donations can be made at the library during its normal business hours.
Money is a very welcome donation!
It helps us pay our monthly rent, replace consumables, repair tools, support our volunteer events, and purchase the new tools you want most! These donations can be made in person at the Tool Library using cash or check, or online here using PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account to donate!)
For any questions regarding donations, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Unfortunately, for space and liability concerns, we cannot accept all tools.
Gas-powered tools, damaged tools, or inherently dangerous items (like chainsaws) are prohibited. For a complete listing of the items we currently do, and do not, need, please view our wish list.
For bulk donations, larger items, or items needing transport, please contact the library beforehand to coordinate a drop-off.
In case of surplus items, the SEPTL may sell donated items and use the proceeds towards other tool purchases, or we may transfer items to other tool libraries, or donate to other charitable organizations.
We are volunteers. We are your neighbors.
Our Volunteers donate their time and skill to keep the Library alive and well. Would you like to help? We’d sure appreciate it and you’ll meet lots of nice neighbors!
